Social Networks

So the new idea I have is to reach out and get out there as much as possible. I want the most exposure I can get... that means the new WEB 2.0 concepts of social networking.

What are social networks? They are probably one of the cooler developments of the users as content builders. So, websites such as Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, LinkedIn, Orkut, and many many more. These services allow individuals to build a web presence connecting them to other individuals. There's usually a number of different modes that these services work in.

The most prominent mode is where users come together to build new connections. Services such as these are Myspace and Orkut. The other mode is where users map out their existing relationships. A service like that would be Facebook whose roots come from a closed network of friends in college that already know each other. LinkedIn is another service that is designed to chart out, in a more professional manner, an individual's professional contacts.

I'm trying to explore more services but there has come into an odd situation where a friend is on the service - it caters to a close group of friends that they a part of. I realized that I seemed to be ever present where they might want some space... so, I offered to remove the account. I didn't hear back but at the same time, I had made connections with a few people, yet none with my friend. If my friend is listening, I just want you to be honest with me and I will respect it. I don't want this to be something that comes between you and I because we've got so much more on the table and you've got so much more shit to deal with than just me. I really mean this and I don't think you get it when we don't talk on the phone.

In other news - I've been downloading a lot of fun stuff for the MacBook Pro that I've acquired form work... this thing is pretty much amazing. It's so easy to work it that I think this will be my next computer - no lie. It'll be a while but I'm hopeful that it will work out at some point. I think I'm going to do a review of the machine and some apps on my other blog soon since I haven't written over there in a long time. Hope all is well with you guys.
